For the longest time I dreaded pizza night.  The whole idea made me nervous!  Let’s face it, gobs of greasy cheese, thick crust and fatty toppings won’t help anyone achieve their health goals.

I have been on my own personal journey towards a healthy lifestyle for a while now.  But pizza is definitely a weakness of mine.  

I have finally found the secret to true C.H.A.N.G.E {Choose Health And Never Give-up Ever!}, and it is so simple!

Sometimes you just need a fresh perspective. Instead of dreading pizza night, and finding myself racked with guilt after overindulging, make the choice to to take control of the situation.  

And that is exactly what this round-up is all about.  It is a fresh “healthy” take on pizza night.  When you are in control of the ingredients, you will fall in love with pizza night all over again.  I know I have!

I have found 5 tried and true healthy pizza options that I just know you are going to love too! Enjoy, and please let us know which one turns out to be your new family favorite.

1. Pizzadillas

Quesadilla + Pizza = Pizzadilla  How clever is that?! I cannot wait to make these with the kids. Ingenious, fun, and easy to make right on your stove-top!

2. 2-Ingredient Pizza Dough

I made this dough for the first time and it most certainly won’t be my last! Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. It doesn’t get any simpler. I did not have self-rising flour on hand, but this recipe taught me how to make my own with baking powder and salt. I made this dough in the afternoon and put it on a pizza stone and let it hang out in the fridge until I was ready to add the toppings that evening. You would have thought I made a really complicated, gourmet crust the way the family gobbled it up!

3. Spaghetti Squash Pizza Crust

If you have spent any time with me at all, you know that I LOVE spaghetti squash! I have found ways to eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and yes, even snacks.

Yes, I am that addicted! Ha! I have tried cauliflower pizza crust and some other “healthy” crusts, but they were complicated to make and were never close enough to feeling like pizza crust for me to make again. This recipe has changed all of that!

I made this crust in the afternoon (as I did with the above, Greek yogurt crust) and then topped it that night with sauteed veggies (mushrooms, onions, green peppers), turkey pepperoni, a little mozzarella cheese, and some additional Italian Seasoning. Oh. My. Word. It was AMAZING! Even my “I want real pizza not weird pizza” husband said he would love to have this again.

4. Quinoa Pizza Bites

Quinoa is one of the those foods that is still a little intimidating to some people. But in all honesty, it is simple to make and very versatile. It can be used in salads, desserts, breakfast bakes and now, pizza bites! There are very few ingredients and it looks like a crowd pleaser. I think these will be perfect to make for our next family get-together.


5. Watermelon Pizza with Coconut “Cheese”

I thought slicing a watermelon into “fingers” to make it easier for the kids to eat was genius, but hold the phone, this is even better! A huge slice of watermelon topped with strawberry “pepperoni”, banana “mushrooms”, and coconut “cheese” is just too cute. Why don’t I think of these sorts of ideas?! This is a total kid’s birthday party idea if I ever saw one. Please act surprised to see this at their next party, okay?
