Easy Burger Seasoning
This is the BEST burger seasoning recipe you’ll ever taste! Our go-to for burgers, ground beef, veggies, and eggs, it’s savory, garlicky, with a subtle kick of heat and lightness that balances everything nicely. We always have it on hand and use it daily.
Love homemade seasonings? Try our homemade Italian seasoning and homemade Ranch seasoning mix, too.

Why are homemade seasoning blends so expensive? Seriously! Of course, they make cooking easier, but we just can’t justify the price, especially when they’re so easy to make at home with ingredients we keep on hand.
So, we make our own instead, and this burger seasoning recipe is a particular favorite! It goes well with everything and tastes better than any store-bought blend we’ve ever tried. We know you’ll love it as much as we do.
Ingredients and Notes
Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the complete details!

- Salt – Any type of salt will work, but we use kosher salt.
- Paprika – Use regular paprika for a sweet, savory, spicy taste. Or, opt for smoked paprika for a richer flavor.
- Garlic Powder and Onion Powder – Don’t skip these! They’re a staple in any good burger seasoning.
- Dried Parsley – This adds a subtle brightness that balances the warmth nicely.
- Ground Black Pepper – Adjust to taste.
- Cayenne Pepper – Add more or less depending on your spice preferences.
Possible Variations
- Prefer extra spice? Add a dash of red pepper flakes or chili powder. Start with a teaspoon or so, taste, and add a little bit more at a time to prevent it from being overpowering.
- Want a sweeter flavor? Include one teaspoon of golden monk fruit sweetener or light brown sugar.

How to Season a Burger
When making burgers, use half a tablespoon of the seasoning blend for every one pound of ground meat. Sprinkling it over ground beef while it’s browning.
Or, to make burgers, add it to a bowl with ground beef, and mix with your hands to distribute it evenly. Then, shape your burger patties, and cook as normal. Season frozen burgers by sprinkling the seasoning mix over the top of the patties while cooking.

Common Questions
There’s truly not much this burger seasoning blend doesn’t pair well with. We love it over scrambled eggs, fried eggs, with veggies, or in soups, stews, and casseroles like our easy cheeseburger soup.
Store your seasoning in an airtight container at room temperature. We often double or triple the recipe to keep on hand! It will stay fresh for up to six months. You’ll know it’s time for a new batch when the color changes and the aroma is no longer quite so strong.
