Common Questions

Can I make whipped cream hearts ahead of time?

Yes, you’ll want to allow for at least four hours of freezing time in order for the hearts to set. Then, you can transfer them to a sealable bag or airtight container, and keep them frozen for several months!

How should I use whipped cream hearts?

Our favorite way to use whipped cream hearts is with our red velvet hot chocolate. However, they’re also fabulous on top of hot coffee, gingerbread hot chocolate, bone broth hot chocolate, or plain hot chocolate mix.

Can I make frozen whipped cream hearts dairy-free?

Absolutely! Just use your favorite dairy-free homemade or store-bought whipped cream, and follow the instructions as listed in the recipe card below.

Ingredients

  • 1 (13 ounce) can whipped cream spray or 2 cups homemade whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Generously spray the whipped cream into the heart-shaped wells of a silicone mold overfilling each well.
1 (13 ounce) can whipped cream spray or 2 cups homemade whipped cream
  • With a flat spatula or knife, press the whipped cream into each well (adding more, if necessary), eliminating any large air bubbles and scraping the top of the wells until smooth and flush with the top of the pan.
  • Top the whipped cream with sprinkles and place the silicone mold in the freezer.
    Sprinkles
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) until the whipped cream is frozen. If needed, allow the pan to sit at room temperature for a couple minutes before carefully removing the frozen hearts from the pan.
  • Place the hearts on top of a mug of hot cocoa or coffee. Store extra hearts in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 1 month.

Notes

Prep Tips – Allowing the whipped cream to freeze overnight will produce the best hearts that don’t fall apart when removing from the mold. If needed, run a knife around the edge of the heart before removing from the pan.
